So I'm a massive sucker for a bit of old-world charm. Sure, we all love an oversized shoulder and throw a bit of metallic at me and I'm on board, but you can't beat something that looks vaguely like it's been pulled from an old lady's loft. Now that I've sorted my act out and bought a decent camera I figured it's probably about time I started paying homage to my own awesome finds and what better way to kick off than the most quintessentially old-world piece of fashion that there is? The top hat blatantly.

I found this bad boy on a charity shop on the Kings Road, and by hook or by crook I was adamant it would fit my head. An original, the lining is shot to hell and it's a little worn around the edges but personally that whole Artful Dodger vibe works a treat for me and it came with the most incredible Dickins & Jones period hat box the world has ever known.
So this is where I get all sepia in your grill but it works, no? Anyway I've had it for donkeys now and after a brief spell of wearing it to every club night going I thought it would be crime to allow it to disintegrate in a waft of someone's cigarette fumes in some dungeon in Shoreditch so it's been reinstated to my bedroom shelf where it still looks mighty fine.
Hurray for keeping the top hat dream alive.

I think a hat that splendid really should be on display.
It's beautiful. You know how I feel about it! It really suits you.
I'm a huge fan of vintage finds. I haven't found a hat as magnificent as these though.
Top hats are amazing things.
As strange as it seems, I have found the besat fashion not at Gucci or the walkways in Rio de Janeiro my home, but at Goodwill. I can't hunt down anywhere the pretty styles i have found there and bought for 2.50-5.00.
